Pet Warning
Like most Scindapsus, the Silver Lady contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. If ingested, it can cause significant oral irritation, swelling of the mouth, tongue, and throat, and digestive upset in cats, dogs, and humans.
Care Notes
Light
Bright, indirect light keeps the silver strong. Lower light is tolerated, but variegation fades and leaves stay smaller. Direct sun can crisp the foliage.
Water
Let the top half of the mix dry before watering. Leaf curl is a common thirst signal. Soak until water drains, then empty the saucer so roots do not sit wet.
Soil
Use a chunky aroid mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark. This plant likes being slightly root-bound and usually only needs repotting every couple of years. Drainage holes are essential.
Humidity & Temperature
Keep temperatures around 65-85°F. Average home humidity works; above 50% often means larger leaves.
Common Issues
Yellow leaves usually mean overwatering. Brown or crispy silver patches can mean low humidity or too much direct sun.
