Silver Dollar Vine
Xerosicyos danguyi
A Madagascan succulent vine with thick, coin-shaped silvery-green leaves on slender climbing stems that grab supports with tendrils. It stores water like a desert plant, so dry-downs matter more than frequent drinks.

Pet Warning
This plant is considered toxic to pets. Ingestion can cause gastrointestinal distress, vomiting, and lethargy. The sap may also act as a mild skin irritant.
Care Notes
Light
Give at least 6 hours of bright, indirect light. A few hours of morning sun keep leaf spacing tight. Stretchy, bare stems mean the vine needs more light.
Water
Water only when the mix is dry top to bottom. Soak until water leaves the drainage holes, then empty the saucer. Never leave the planter sitting in standing water.
Soil
Use a gritty cactus or succulent mix with pumice or perlite. Terracotta helps moisture evaporate and cuts root-rot risk.
Humidity & Temperature
Low humidity is fine. In winter, water about every 4-6 weeks, just enough to keep leaves from shriveling. Keep the plant warm, above about 60°F.
Common Issues
Leggy growth means more light. Soft, yellowing leaves usually mean overwatering. Shriveled discs after a long dry spell mean it is time for a thorough soak.
