Nerve Plant 'Skeleton'
Fittonia albivenis
The 'Skeleton' Nerve Plant has deep olive-green leaves heavily laced with neon-pink or deep red veins. A low-growing creeper from Peruvian rainforests, it wilts when thirsty and usually bounces back after watering. Warmth and humidity keep the veining looking its best.

Pet Friendly
Fittonia species are non-toxic to cats, dogs, and horses, making them safe for pet-friendly households.
Care Notes
Light
Provide bright, indirect light. Direct afternoon sun scorches the leaves. Lower light is tolerated, but pink veining can fade.
Water
Keep the soil consistently moist. If leaves go limp, water immediately. Use a pot with drainage holes so recovery does not turn into root rot.
Soil
Plant in a peat-based mix that holds moisture and still drains. Shallow planters work well for this low creeper.
Humidity and Temperature
Humidity of 60% or higher is ideal. Terrariums are a great fit; otherwise use a pebble tray or humidifier. Keep temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C to 27°C), away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents. Pinch growing tips for a fuller plant.
Common Issues
Crispy edges mean dry air. Yellow leaves usually mean overwatering. Leggy stems improve with tip pinching and a little more light.
