Marisa Fern
Nephrolepis exaltata 'Marisa'
The Marisa Fern is a compact Boston Fern cultivar with soft, finely textured, multi-layered fronds that give a cloud-like look. Sometimes called Cotton Candy Fern, it stays smaller than classic Boston types and works well in terrariums, hanging baskets, or on a tabletop.

Care Notes
Light
Give bright, filtered light. Direct sun scorches the thin fronds quickly. An east window or a few feet back from a south window usually works.
Water
Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Even one dry day can cause heavy frond loss. Use a pot with drainage holes so roots stay moist without sitting in a saucer of water.
Soil
Plant in a rich peat-based mix with perlite or vermiculite so moisture stays available without turning muddy.
Humidity and Temperature
Humidity above 60% is critical. Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or a naturally humid bathroom. Keep temperatures between 60°F and 75°F (15°C to 24°C), away from cold drafts and heating vents. In winter, water a bit less but never let the soil go fully dry, and boost humidity as indoor air dries out.
Common Issues
Crispy fronds usually mean dry air or underwatering. Yellowing often points to overwatering.
